Joel Rappoport

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Legal and Corporate Services Group
Joel Rappoport joined First Hawaiian in January 2017 as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for both First Hawaiian Bank and its holding company, First Hawaiian, Inc. and is also a member of the Bank’s Senior Management Committee. He is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s Legal and Corporate Services Division. He has over 30 years of experience as an attorney and was previously a partner with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP in Washington DC, where he advised financial institutions and their holding companies in structuring, negotiating and executing complex corporate transactions.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Hawaii Pacific University and of the Board of Advisors of the University of North Carolina Banking Institute.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law.
