Hawaii Baptist Academy Receives $150,000 Grant From First Hawaiian Bank Foundation

(Honolulu, Hawaii, June 15, 2012) – Hawaii Baptist Academy has received a $150,000 grant from the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation, according to an announcement today by Bob Harrison, First Hawaiian Bank's president and chief executive officer. The grant will be used to support Hawaii Baptist Academy's capital campaign for the renovation of the school's Learning Resource Center and property acquisition project.

Since its founding in 1949, Hawaii Baptist Academy's mission has been to educate children in a nurturing community based on Christian values. The K-12 independent, college preparatory school located in Honolulu, Hawaii, provides opportunities for students to develop to their full potential.

The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation is the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank. In 2011, the Foundation and Bank contributed to more than 400 non-profit organizations in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan. The Foundation funds educational opportunities, access to health care, services for children and youth, human service needs, and support of culture and the arts.
